The LMCI Care Box

The LMCI Care Box is an initiative born out of the founders of the company’s desire to deliver services with true commitment, with love and honour to clients, and to everyone regardless of their background.  They also had a desire to embrace those in society that have unmet needs, by meeting some of those needs and loving them to a place of restoration. The late Group CEO and Co-Founder of LMCI, Lawrence Mareya was a deeply devout man who believed that all we achieve as individuals and corporates is a gift from God. He strongly believed that it is a duty to serve the less privileged with the same commitment as the privileged.

Long before the creation of ‘Care Box’ as an official vehicle for this vision, LMCI and its members have always practiced the spirit of uniquely caring. The company, led by Lawrence, coordinated a comprehensive response by the company to the cyclone Idai catastrophe in 2018. This was followed up by a conference on the review and lessons of this catastrophe in the following year.

LMCI has been involved in multiple ‘caring’ initiatives in Botswana with assistance offered to various needy members of society. It is fitting that the launch of Care Box coincides with the 1st anniversary commemoration of Mr. Lawrence Mareya and there is no better way to capture his legacy than this initiative.

Care Box Value – We Uniquely Care

The Care Box value is derived from the LMCI corporate value of commitment. “We Uniquely Care” was a statement often used by Lawrence Mareya to encourage those around him to love and honour the people we encounter regardless of their background; whether rich or poor, and to embrace those that have been castigated by society and love them to a place of restoration. Mr Mareya loved without boundaries, hence Care Box is such a befitting embodiment of his legacy. May His Soul Continue To Rest In Peace.
